Free Post-Workshop Handbook:

I’ve prepared a small (24pp) handbook for those who want to get “up and running” in their own project after doing an NVivo 7 introduction. It’s designed to help researchers move from getting an overview of the software (in a workshop or self-teaching through tutorials), to actually using it for their purposes in their projects.

The Handbook takes you through ten steps to setting up your own project. For each step it helps you ask -

bullet

what does your research require,

bullet

what needs to be done now, (as opposed to what you can put off!)

bullet

what tools does NVivo 7 offer

bullet

how to do it, - with pointers to the relevant online tutorial and area of the online Help.

This Handbook is a response to years of learning what most smoothly starts users in their own projects, after the workshop is over, and what delays or derails them. It brings together the other materials I’ve prepared and made available online.

The handbook can be freely copied so long as it is copied in its entirety.

Note it’s paginated for printing double-sided; each step is covered in two pages, to open out so everything about that step can be seen at once! If you use it, especially if you use it in class situations, do please let me know how it works for you and your students.
